Two Masters Runners are the King and Queen of the 2017 Appleby Bermuda Day Half Marathon Derby.
When many said it would not happen Jay Donawa proved the doubters wrong when he crossed the line in a time of 1:20.08, Doawa was very emotional when he crossed the line having finished second some 8 times throughout his time in the event, but he silenced all his critics in breaking the tape.
Evan Naude was second in 1:21.50 and Christopher Harris finished third in a time of 1:23.16.
Meanwhile Deon Breary won the female race when she crossed the line 22nd overall stopping the clock in a time of 1:35.38, Breary said the second time around was even sweeter than the first time, because of her age being 47.
Martina Olcheski-Bell was the second female finisher clocking 1:36.33 and Karen Smith was the third female finisher and 38th overall clocking 1:39.10.
