As we begin the countdown to the final race of the 2021/2022 Road Race Season, www.islandstats.com takes a look at the Bermuda Day Half Marathon defending champion Chris Estwanik.
In 2021 Estwanik, made a winning return to the Derby, claiming his seventh title leading the field from St George’s to Bernard Park in a time of 1:10.28.
When asked if he will be defending his title Estwanik said, “I would simply say that I’m training as well as I can and for me that means training more efficiently.
The high mileage is what had beaten up my body during my injury-riddled years, and I am trying to learn from those mistakes.
I hope that everyone is excited as it’s such a fun day for all the athletes fortunate enough to take part.”
