Ryan Outerbridge and his Franklin Pierce University Men's Cross Country teammates hosted the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds, and a successful hosting stint it was.
Not only did they win the race and beat out eight other teams on the 8k course, but they did so in dominating fashion.
Franklin Pierce had the top three finishers in the meet, and five of the first six, to narrowly miss out on a clean sweep with their scoring five. It all added up to just 17 points for Franklin Pierce, and a 37-point victory over second-place Saint Anselm who had 54 points. Bridgewater State rounded out the top three with 110 points.
Leading the pack of runners was Will Aylward, who claimed first place for his 25:17 time. Sophomore Thomas Darrah finished right on his heels, taking second for his 25:31 finish. He was followed by senior Cody Tallent, who claimed third for his 25:39 time. Finishing in fifth was graduate student Sebastien Vicary, who ran the race in 25:42.
In sixth was sophomore Outerbridge, who clocked a time of 26:00, to close out Franklin Pierce's scoring five.
