Lamont Marshall has broken the Bermuda Men’s 3,000m Steeplechase National Record competing in the 15th Music City Distance Carnival in Nashville.
In a field of 20 runners Marshall put in a strong showing finishing 10th stopping the clock in a time of 8:49.71.
This time also meets the Qualifying Standard time for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
Marshall ‘s time broke a 21 year old record set by Terrance Armstrong of 8:53.6 set back on April 5th, 1996.
Marshall is now the Record holder of 5 Bermuda National Outdoor Records.
Marshall holds the 3,000m, 5,000m, 10,000m, he was member of the 4x800m Relay Team and now the 3,000m Steeplechase.
