The Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Track and Field Championships got underway with the West and West Central Zone Primary School Qualifiers at the National Sports Center.
West Central Zone
In the Girls 100 Meter Dash Under 9 race was won by Arima Turner from Bermuda High School who clocked 15.59, Zalayah Cumming-Eversley from Paget Primary was second clocking 15.68 and Ayahalay Simons from Warwick Academy was third clocking 16.10.
Will Spring from Warwick Academy won the Boys 100 Meter Dash Under 9 race clocking 15.17, D’Ari Coddington from West Pembroke was second in 15.44 and Troy Washington from Gilbert Institute was third clocking 15.71.
Latarie Doers-Bowen from Somerset Primary won the Girls 100 Meter Dash Under 9 race with a time of 16.11, Jaya Postlethwaite from Purvis Primary was second in a time of 16.95 and Star Abdullah from Heron Bay School finished third clocking 17.11.
The Boys 800 Meter Run Under 9 race was won by Xenai Williams-Savery from Port Royal who clocked 2:56.59, Harlem Bean-Fox from Purvis Primary was second in 2:58.11 and Zahni Butterfield from Heron Bay School was third in 3:03.36.
