Virginia Union University's Men's Cross-Country team captured four of the top five places to win the VUU Invite, at Bryan Park in Richmond, Va.
VUU won the event with a team score of 17, far in front of Juma Mouchette’s Virginia State University, who placed second with 61 points. Chowan University was third with 75 points while Elizabeth City State University was fourth with 79 points. Washington Adventist University was fifth with 106 points.
VUU's Franck Charles was the top runner, placing first with a time of 29:15.3 over the eight-kilometer courses. Union's Luis Nieves was second with a time of 29:32.0 and teammate Arthur Casey was third with a time of 30:49.7.
Virginia Union's DeAndre Horton was fourth with a time of 30:58.0 while VUU's Linda Moise was seventh with a time of 32:18.3.
