Members of the Bermuda Running Community as well as thousands around the World will have memories of the Boston Marathon Bombing 2013 flooding back as terror suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had been found Guilty on all 30 accounts.
Tsarnaev the bloodied fugitive, captured by police with rifle lasers tagging his head as he surrendered from a tarp-covered boat in a homeowner's backyard, which ended a massive manhunt for suspects four days after a pair of crude pressure-cooker bombs killed three people and injured 264 more.
Jurors in the Boston Marathon bombing trial have found Tsarnaev guilty of all 17 counts that carry a possible penalty of death.
The jury determined that he's responsible for the April 2013 deaths of Krystle Campbell, Martin Richard, Lingzi Lu and Sean Collier.
Tsarnaev stood with his head bowed and his hands clasped as the verdicts were read.
So far, Tsarnaev has been found guilty of, among other things.
www.islandstats.com asked Chris Estwanik who had finished the race to reflect on the verdict, “I just think many of us would be happy that he will never get a chance to hurt another person now that he has been found guilty of this horrendous crime.”
Estwanik continued, “I am very happy that they was able to capture the people responsible, with the brother killed, but the memories of the day stay with you and I hope people can get some closure with the conviction and then the sentencing phase of the verdict.”
