The 2015 International Race Weekend got underway with the threat of rain all evening during the KPMG Front Street Mile, however the heavy rain did not fall until the Final Race of the night that was the Elite Male race that only saw two competitors.
Over the years the highlight of the night has been the Elite Men’s Race, but with only the two runners competing, one could only wonder if the organizers will come under the harsh criticism that other local sports get when the numbers are not good.
The race of the night was the finish in the Senior School Girls race that saw the defending champion Kyrah Scraders edged Messiah Greaves by less than one hundredth of a second, Scraders clocked 5:30.41.001, Greaves who introduced herself to Bermuda’s media was clocked at 5:30.41.007.
Only one record was broken, it came during the Middle School Girls race when Ashley Irby clocked a time of 5:23.6.
