Taylor-Ashley Bean and her Virginia State University (VSU) Women's Cross Country teammates fell short to the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) during the running of the VSU Fall Cross Country Opener at Rogers Stadium.
In the women's race, VCU sophomore Emily Dyke led the way with a time of 20:16 seconds, followed by rookie teammate Nichelle Scott in second place with a time of 20:28.
VSU's top female finisher was Bean in seventh place with a time of 22:45, while teammate Jessica Davis placed eighth at 22:51.
As a team, VCU runners finished first through fifth to win the team title with 15 points, while the VSU women took second place with a winning score of 71 points.
