Both Butterfield and Estwanik had things their own way from start to finish.
Butterfield took control of the race right from the start putting a gap between himself and the field before reaching the St. James Church. Butterfield then ran uncontested for the remainder of the race only stopping twice to give hugs to a few friends.
Butterfield broke the tape in 1:11.16, with Chayce Smith finishing second in 1:15.21 and Stephen Allen finished third in 1:15.45.
Estwanik, was looking for a better run than she had last year and was once again emotional, but this time it was happy emotion as she finished 10th overall crossing the line in a time of 1:21.22, Nikki Butterfield was the second female finisher and 27th overall clocking 1:28.50 and the defending champion Rose-Ann Hoey, was 38th overall and the third female finisher clocking 1:31.14.
