www.islandstats.com can report that Tyler Butterfield’s wife Nikki Butterfield will take part in the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby Race on May 26th.
With this comes the question can we have another husband and wife Derby Champions. In recent years Chris and Ashley Estwanik have taken the title, but this year could see the change of guard, with Tyler Butterfield the odds on favorite to win the Men’s race, while Estwanik is favorite to win the Ladies race.
But Nikki Butterfield a former pro cyclist and Triathlete has not competed since the Abu Dhabi Triathlon 2013, were she pulled out of the race suffering from cramp.
Butterfield since 2011 has not finished outside the top 4 in the Women’s Field, in 2006 Butterfield won the Women's Bank of Bermuda Individual Triathlon in Bermuda.
Although Butterfield has not been competitive for a few years, she can on the day produce a winning performance.
