The 18th running of the Telford Electric Magic Mile is fast approaching. The event is scheduled for February 22nd at the National Sports Center with a schedule 12noon start.
The popular annual event is open to children from ages 4 and up, the event sees parents and children alike turned out each year for the Telford Electric Magic Mile Races which are organized by the Bermuda Pacers Track Club, and sanctioned by the Bermuda Track & Field Association.
The 17th Telford Electric Magic Mile saw Rebecca Harrison from Saltus won the Girls 13 – 15 Age Group race clocking a time of 9:14.67, while Zakiyah Durham running for TN Tatem finished second with a time of 9:31.46 and Symira Lowe also from TN Tatem finished third clocking 9:39.97.
Akim Johnston clocked a winning time of 8:03.32 representing Dellwood in the Boy’s 13 – 15 Age Group race, while Jankeylo Burgess from TN Tatem finished second with a time of 8:25.24 and Clearwater Middle School student Kheary Swan finished third with a time of 8:34.42.
Ashley Irby won the Girls 10 – 12 Age Group race with a time of 8:13.03 representing Saltus, while Bermuda High School student Messiah Greaves finished second with a time of 8:52.29 and Emma Harvey from the Warwick Academy finished third with a time of 8:59.32.
Jayden Ming from the Warwick Academy won the Boys 10 – 12 Age Group race with a time of 7:59.18, while Ryan Outerbridge from the St. David’s Primary finished second with a time of 8:03.56 and Robert Edwards finished the third running for the Sandys Secondary Middle School clocking a time of 8:10.11.
