IslandStats.com
Ashley Berry and her Duke’s University 17th-ranked Women’s Cross Country teammates traveled to Madison, Wis., to compete in the fifth running of the Wisconsin Invitational.

Duke scored 619 points en route to a 25th-place finish. The invitational showcased a highly competitive field, with over half of the nation’s top-30 teams competing.

After two wins in as many races this season, graduate student Juliet Bottorff once again led Duke. Bottorff finished 11th in her first 6,000-meter competition of the season, and ran a time of 20:03, just eight seconds off her personal-best time from last year.

Sophomore Anima Banks placed second for Duke and 113th overall, running a time of 21:11. The Mamaroeneck, N.Y., native competed in a 6,000m race for the first time in her collegiate career.

The freshmen duo of Haley Meier and Hannah Meier finished 125th and 175th, respectively. The Meier twins both competed in the first 6,000m race of their collegiate careers. Haley finished in a time of 21:16 while Hannah, returning from an illness that kept her out of the Notre Dame Invitational Oct. 4, returned with a 21:42 performance.

Sophomore Madison Granger, junior Julianna Miller and senior Berry rounded out the top seven on Saturday. Granger, participating in her third meet of the season, ran a 22:05 for 232nd place. Miller followed an 18:03.5 performance at Notre Dame October 4th with a time of 23:02 for 6,000m and a 276th place finish. Averaging 6:24 per mile, Berry placed 287th with a time of 23:49.
