Taylor-Ashley Bean helped Virginia State University to finish 3rd in the Great American Cross Country Festival held at the Wake Med Soccer Park, in North Carolina.
Competing in the Women’s 5K HBCU Challenge for Non-Division I Schools, Bean finished 3rd clocking a time of 19:25.7, she finished behind winner Zola Budd who clocked 17:47.0 and second place finisher Ericka Charles who clocked 18:59.3.
Virginia State University finished with a total of 62 points, St. Augustine's University won the team event with 36 points, while Winston-Salem State University finished second with 56 points.
