After a two-week hiatus, Tre Simons and his Limestone College Men's Cross Country teammates got back in action with a solid showing at the 2013 Charlotte Cross Country Invitational at McAlpine Park.
Limestone faced a diverse group of runners hailing from the NCAA Division I and II ranks.
Facing schools such as UNC Charlotte, Mississippi State, Miami (Fla.), Radford and USC Upstate, Simons and his teammates finished 22nd out of 27 teams.
In the Men's 8000-meter race, sophomore Tristan Perignon paced Limestone with an 82nd-place finish out of 197 runners clocking a time of 27:05.5. Freshmen Scott Swing had the next best time with a mark of 28:00.5, which was good enough for 129th overall.
Finishing ten spots behind Swing was sophomore Chase Steagall who came in with a time of 28:12.7.
Rounding out the Limestone Men's runners was junior Shawn Smith, freshman Michael Darazi, junior Cord Sgaglio and junior Simons who finished 186th clocking a time of 30:47.1.
