Four winners emerged from RenaissanceRe 5 and 10 Mile Challenges, that started and finishing near the South Gate of the Botanical Gardens.
Gideon Kigotho and Kristyn Robinson won the Male and Female 10 Mile Titles, while Gary Raynor and Jennifer Alen came away with the Men’s and Ladies 5 Mile Titles.
Kigotho ran away with the Men’s title in the 10 Mile event after clocking a time of 1:02:27, Geoffrey Blee finished second at the distance with a time of 1:02:56 and Davis Mwangi finished third clocking 1:03:15.
In the Ladies 10 Mile Race, Robinson came from behind to defeat Deon Breary, Robinson trailed Breary with just under a Mile and a Half to go by a mere 3 seconds, but Robinson was able to get pass the Bermuda Day Half Marathon champion to win clocking a time of 1:09:35 to finish 9th overall, while Breary finished 10th overall clocking 1:09:57.
Raynor ran away with the 5 Mile Men’s Title, clocking a time of 27:52, while Jonathan Ball finished second with a time of 31:42. Alen did the same in the Ladies 5 Mile event when she finished third overall with a time of 32:19, Rose-Anna Hoey finished fourth overall and the second Female finisher clocking a time of 33:17, while Ben Howland finished as the third Male finisher and fifth overall with a time of 33:37 and Kelly Larrett round out the top three Female runners, she finished 7th overall with a time of 34:12.
