The countdown for the Fairmont to Fairmont Race is well underway. Sunday January 8th is the day that is set aside for the Adult, Relay and Junior Races.
The Fairmont Adult Race starts at 9:00am at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, runners will cover a distance of 7.2 miles. The route will take the competitors from the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, Front Street, East Broadway, The Lane, Harbour Road, Burnt House Hill, Middle Road, up Princess Driveway and finish at The Fairmont Southampton Hotel, Ocean Club (formerly known as Whaler Inn).
The Junior Race which consists of ages 8 to 15, covers approximately 3km will start at the Heron Bay Market Place at 8:30am. The juniors will run along Middle Road, up Princess Driveway and finish at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel Ocean Club (formerly known as Whaler Inn).
The Fairmont 3 Person Relay Race will have participation of All Male Teams, All Female Teams and Corporate Teams, they will begin at 9:00am at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel. The first leg will cover 2.8 miles, runners will begin at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess Hotel, Front Street, East Broadway, The Lane, Harbour Road, to Newstead, where the second runner will then cover a distance of 1.7 miles running from Newstead to Spithead. The third leg sees the runners leave Spithead to Burnt House Hill, Middle Road, up Princess Driveway and finish at The Fairmont Southampton Hotel, Ocean Club (formerly known as Whaler Inn) they will cover a distance of 2.7 miles.
