Bobb Win's Multiple Medals in Championships

Caitlyn Bobb competed in the 2A East Region High School Track & Field Championships.

Bobb would record the fastest Women’s Varsity 200 Meters Preliminary time of 25.08, Bobb would go even faster in the Women’s Varsity 200 Meters Final stopping the clock in a Gold Medal time of 24.92.

With a time of 55.00, Bobb would win the Women’s Varsity 400 Meters Gold Medal as well.

Bobb would pick up her third Gold Medal of the Championships as she ran the anchor leg for the Harford Tech Women’s Varsity 4x400 Relay team that clocked a winning time of 4:03.74.

Bobb captured a total of four Medals but the final one would be Silver as she led off the Harford Tech Women’s Varsity 4x800 Relay team that finished second with a time of 10:11.54.

Mendes Sets Personal Best in Montreal

Brianna Mendes competed in the Desjardins 5K Road Race in Montreal.

Mendes finished 18th overall clocking a Personal Best time of 18.26.

Mendes would finish 5th in the Female 20 – 29 Age Group, Mendes was also 5th overall out of 115 Female runners.

Armstrong Wins Silver Medals in Championships

Nathan Armstong, Carifta Games Silver and Bronze Medalist competed in the Passaic County Outdoor Track Championships recently according to the President of the Bermuda National Athletics Association Donna Raynor.

Armstrong would pick up two Silver Medals during the Outdoor Track Championships.

After finishing 9th in the Men’s 800m in a time of 2:04.52, Armstrong would then finish 2nd in the Men’s 1600m in a time of 4.36.20. Armstrong would then close out with a 2nd place finish in the 3200m race in a time of 9.55.89.

Raynor concluded, “Armstrong is preparing to represent Bermuda later this summer in the NACAC Under 18 & Under 23 Championships in Queretaro, Mexico.

Swan's Legends Race Series 2019

After bringing you the results of the Sir Stanley Burgess 5K yesterday, today www.islandstats.com brings you the Swan’s Running Club third annual Legends Race Series Results crowning its third Legends champion.

There were 65 participants in this year’s series.

Sean Trott won the overall Male Legends Trophy, with Gayle Lindsay retaining her Legends Overall Female Title.

Both winners also collected a $500 cash prize for amassing the most points in the best 3 out of 4 series. There were also age group winners who were awarded trophies for amassing the most points in their respective age group.

The series, sponsored by BGA, Rosewood Tucker’s Point & Grotto Bay Resort, involved 4 races, the Ed Sherlock 10K, the Race Swan 8K, the Ludwig Cann 10K and the “Sir” Stanley Burgess 5K.

The best 3 finishes were used to calculate the winner. The last and fastest race carried double points, so the challenge for the titles came down to the last race.

Trott & Lindsay are Sir Stanley Burgess 5K Champions

Sean Trott and Gayle Lindsay are the 2019 Sir Stanley Burgess 5K Run Male and Female Champions.

Trott led from start to finish and crossed the line 29 seconds ahead of the second place runner. Trott was clocked at 16:56, with Tom Mills second in a time of 17:25 and Ryan Outerbridge finished third with a time of 17:35.

Lindsay would finish 10th overall crossing the line in a time of 19:46, Martina Olcheski-Bell was the second female finisher and 13th overall with a time of 20:38 and finishing 19th overall was the 3rd female finisher Anna Laura Hocking who stopped the clock in a time of 22:00.
