Countdown to Round the Island Race

With the Round the Island Powerboat Race scheduled for this coming Sunday August 17th, www.islandstats.com will highlight the boats that have signed up for the event by Class.

As indicated last year the first boat across the line in each Class is declared the winner.

Today we continue with the B Class.

Driver: David Selley
Co Pilot: Mark Selley
Boat Number: B 8
Boat Make: Phantom
Length of Boat: 21 feet
Engine Type: Mercury 200 – Minor Modifications permitted


David Selley and Mark Selley will be returning driving their Phantom 21 foot powerboat powered by a slightly modified Mercury 200hp motor. These guys have been part of the club ever since they were old enough to race. They both graduated from our junior progam and moved on to win the Around the Island race in the past. Last year they placed first in their class and forth overall in the Around the Island race. They have their sights set this year on taking the overall title and will be pushing their boat to the fullest to do so.

Boat Make: Ocke Mannerfelt – B23
Length of Boat: 21 feet
Engine Type: Evinrude 150 HO – No Modifications permitted


Ryan Davidge and Andrew Osbourne are back again this year with their 21 foot Ocke Mannerfelt B 23 powerboat powered by an unmodified Evinrude 150hp motor. These two placed first in their class, as well as placing first overall in last years Around the Island race. The two have been racing for many years now, they have been looking good all season, and are going to be trying everything they can to retain the title.

Boat Make: Adam Younger – VS 22
Length of Boat: 22 feet
Engine Type: Mercury 200hp – Minor Modifications permitted


New on the B class scene we have Jody Carreiro and Tony Carreiro. The pair will be driving their 22 foot Adam Younger VS 22 powerboat in this years race powered by a slightly modified Mercury 200hp motor. Last year the pair drove to victory in A class and has placed first in that class for the past two seasons. They will be seeking to make an impact in B class this year and as well will be pushing for that number one spot.
