Scott Barnes concluded competing in the Super Nationals 24 Kart Racing at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a fifth-place finish.
Barnes said, “My 9th SKUSA Super Nats done and dusted. Been a good week, we ran top 5 speed all week, flashed top 3 speeds at times, bad qualifier, decent heat races had us set up for a 7th starting spot for Super Sunday.
After finishing one spot off the podium in 2019, I was not going to be denied a podium this year. I had a great 24 lap battle with Joseph Ruch, flashed top 4 speed for a while but I was stepping on the podium this year and we got it done.
Don’t know if/when I’ll be racing Super Nats again, but if this was my last one I’m happy to be back on the Vegas Podium!
This podium definitely left me hungry thou and it’s nice to know I can come from small island and run with the top guys in my class with little seat time in the shifter.”
