Scott Barnes has had 4 sessions on track as the SKUSA Pro Tour’s 12th edition of the Spring Nationals Rounds 3 got underway at the Utah Motorsports Campus in Grantsville, Utah.
In the Warm-Up Round of the Shifter Masters Class, Barnes finished 7th, Barnes said, “We were slow but the tracks in my head, it’s a new track for me, and it’s going to be a hard weekend to podium against a bunch of fast Karts but we’ll get faster and improve.”
Barnes would move up to 4th in the Qualifying Round, with his fastest lap of 57.244, Barnes would then finish 3rd in the Pre-Fi8nal race with a 12 lap time of 11:19.247.
In the final, Barnes finished 4th with a 20 lap time of 19:41.279, a frustrated Barnes said, “I drove like crap, the Kart won’t do anything I want it to, I had to settle for a crappy 4th today in the Final, I just threw the Kart on the table it was 6 mil bent on the front end, but I just need to brush off today, regroup and go hard tomorrow.”
