The 2021 Superkarts USA Winter Series program closed out this weekend with Scott Barnes competing at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex presented by MG Tires in Florida.
Rounds Three and Four of the ‘best of three’ championship program will be contested in Homestead, Florida to decide this year’s titles.
During the Pro/Mas Shifter by PSL Karting Round Four Final, Barnes finished 2nd with a 21 lap time of 17:27.1855, Freddy Rhemrev would win the final in a 22 lap time of 17:34.352.
Barnes would not finish the Pre-Final, Barnes was only able to complete 7 laps, with his fastest lap being 47.420, which was his fifth time around the track.
Barnes said, “Not the best weekend of racing, some of my worst driving in a long time, on a really hard track, on a 7-year-old beat up chassis.”
“I had to settle for two 2nd place finals finish’s and 2nd overall in the SKUSA Winter Tour Championship in Masters Shifter,” continued Barnes.
“Barnes concluded, I will brush this weekend off, and turn my attention to the Pro Tour starting in March, finally on a new Chassis!!! Always good to be at the racetrack with good friends! Till the next one.”
