The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club’s Bluewave Trophy Race Day was part of the action in the east end where auto enthusiasts took part in a dynamic energy expo based between Clearwater Beach and the RUBiS Southside Raceway.
The day's Minibike Class boasted a large group of youngsters from ages eight to thirteen. The young racers tore it up on the track with Sheun Simmons claiming victory in all three of the day's heats.
Kenneth DeSilva continued his winning streak in the Scooter 70 class where he dominated much of the day's combined Scooter heats. His machine did not disappoint as he pushed he and his closest competitor, Devon Bailey's, bikes to their limits.
Scooter 4T's front runner, Edward Cook, fought a difficult battle trying to close in on the lead 70 racers, DeSilva and Bailey, as they aggressively tore away from the rest of the pack over the course of the day. Despite the intense competition, Cook still secured the win in all three heats for the 4T Division.
Sandy Benevides secured the win across the board in the Formula Xtreme class as the sole racer in his class to run alongside the scooters on his 250cc motard. Benevides fought a constant battle with scooter 70 racer, Blair Jones.
The Current Vehicles Gas versus Electric Bike Race was the one to watch where the Team Oni Racing Club's (TORC) Electric Motorcycle went up against Bermuda's fastest Gas Bikes. It was Bailey who ended the day as the first place trophy winner in the day's signature race, securing the win for the gas vehicles.
