The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club ('BMRC') will end the 2014 National Championship Series effective as at the last race event held on September 7th, 2014.
BMRC President Cyril H. Whitter III said, “The decision to end the season, with three scheduled events remaining, has come after a dismal year of participation and climate. With low attendance over the first half of the championship and several events canceled due to weather conditions the 2014 National Championship has seen an all-time low turn-out of race competitors and spectators alike.”
Whitter III went on to say, “The remainder of the 2014 season will be used to bring public awareness of the benefits of motorcycle riding & racing to the community. The executive committee has been in discussions on hosting several events over the coming months which include, but not limited to, Open Track Days, Riding Clinics and social events for the public.”
The final three scheduled events will be Open Track Days and will provide a Riding Clinic at 12 noon covering the fundamentals of riding a motorcycle on closed circuits and public roads. “For as low as $10 you can be provided instruction on motorcycle riding and spend hours of riding in a closed course, safe and organized environment.”
