The Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Club (BMRC) will be hosting their National Championship race event this Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Bermuda Motorsports Park in Southside, St. Davids. Racing action will recommence after the cancellation of the past round due to weather conditions.
Championship challengers Jordan Fletcher (GP125), Haley Place (GP80) and Shae Darrell (GP80) are looking to mount a serious challenge on the current championship leaders in their respective classes.
Bruce Degrilla Jr, the 2010 GP125 Champion, currently leads the classification by 40 points over Fletcher but will be missing this round as he travels to represent Bermuda at the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games in Douglas on the Isle of Man.
Fletcher will be looking to seize this opportunity to make up ground on his rival with a clean sweep of three victories. However 125 rookie Wytiko Showers also has his eyes set on his first GP125 Class win and can be the dark horse in Fletcher's plans.
Jazari Caisey currently leads the GP80 Class by 48 points over Haley Place. Shae Darrell, earlier GP80 Class leader, has major ground to make up as he currently sits 83 points behind the leader after missing a round of racing whilst travelling overseas.
The BMRC Development Classification sees a strong rivalry brewing between Tamia Place (2010 Minibike Champion) and Coolridge Fubler Jr. Place currently holds a 62 point lead over Fubler with 4 rounds remaining in the series, although a large gap to fill Fubler has been constantly battling for his podium positions and has not given up in his quest to lift the 2011 Minibike Championship title.
