Bermuda Karting Club Round Up

The Bermuda Karting Club’s season continued at the Rubis Southside Motor Sports Park with a full day of racing.

Nathan Decosta won all three races in the Cadet Class, while Scott Barnes won two of the three races in the Tag Senior Class with David Selley winning the other race on the day.

David Barbosa took the checkered flag all three times in the L206 Masters Class, while Ed Cook won two of the three races in the L206 Senior Class and Justin Lindo added the other.

The Tag Junior Class saw Ashley Horseman win two of the three races, while Jauza James won the other, Ryan Rebello won two of the three races in the Shifters Stock Class and Scott Barnes won the other. Austin Riley won all three Shifters Modified Class races on the day.

Bermuda Karting Club Round Up

The Bermuda Karting Club’s season continued at the Rubis Southside Motor Sports Park with the first raced day of 2019.

Nile Bean won all three races in the Cadet Class, while Blake Horseman won all three Tag Senior Class races on the day.

David Barbosa took the checkered flag twice in the L206 Masters Class, while Jeff Sousa won the other. Scott Barnes won all three races in the L206 Senior Class.

The Tag Junior Class saw Ashley Horseman proving to strong winning all three races, while Owen DeCosta won two of the three races in the Shifters Stock Class and Scott Barnes won the other. Ben Savill won two of the three Shifters Modified Class races, with Stephen Corrado winning the other.

Barnes Wins on Daytona Motor Speedway

Scott Barnes concluded competing at the World Karting Association’s Daytona Kart Week at the Famous Daytona Motor Speedway.

On the second day of racing Barnes would finish on top of the podium in the Stock Honda 125 Class, this after crashing out of the Class the day before.

Barnes would clock an 8 lap winning time of 20:26.765, his fastest lap being the 7th clocking 2:14.004.

Barnes would then finish 2nd competing in the 125 Sprint Shifter Class, Barnes clocked an 8 lap time of 20:24.312, with his fastest lap being 2:13.498.

Speaking to www.islandstats.com Barnes said, “I was able to pull off the win today in the last race in 125 Stock Honda, I was part of a 6 kart break away pack the whole race and was able to break away with another kart on the last lap and was able to hold off the challenge of Steven Rougeou”

Barnes went on to say, “I also picked up a Second place finish in the 125 Sprint Shifter competition, the 2nd race was awesome and tuff, pack of 6 karts all pretty even.”

Barnes concluded, “The last two laps came down to experience and setting myself up to be on the right spot for the draft at the end.”

Barnes Finishes 2nd on Daytona Motor Speedway

Scott Barnes is competing at the World Karting Association’s Daytona Kart Week at the Famous Daytona Motor Speedway.

Barnes is competing in Two Classes, Road Racing on the Super Speedway and Oval Racing on the Outside of the Speedway.

Barnes would start competing in the Stock Honda 125 Class, unfortunately midway through racing there was an accident, a Kart spun and crashed into Barnes forcing him out of the race.

Barnes would however finish 2nd competing in the 125 Sprint Shifter Class, with his fastest lap being 2:14.046.

BMRC Host Boxing Day Racing at teh Moto Sports Park

The Bermuda Motocross Racing Club held the first of two exciting annual events at the Southside Moto Sports Park.

Riders went to the Starting Gate for Boxing Day Races.

The Day was the first of two events that make up parts 2 and 3 of their Trophy Series.

Class from the Pee Wee Class to the Expert Class all looked to gain valuable points in a bid to win the series.

Also taking to the Track was 2 overseas riders.

The Series will conclude with racing on New Years Day.
