Ceci Wollmann was back on the water taking part in the 2nd Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.
Competing in the Byte CII Women’s One Person Dinghy Race, Wollmann started the day in 10th place overall after four races, but when the day ended Wollmann was up to 9th place with 59 points.
Wollmann finished 4th in the first race of the day and the fifth of the regatta, she repeated that position in the second race of the day, Wollmann then closed out the day finishing 13th in the seventh race of the regatta.
Three races remain in the competition, with Wollmann 15 points behind Carolina Albano from Italy who currently holds the Bronze Medal position with 44 points.
Chef-de-mission Katura Horton Perinchief said, “I am very proud of Ceci Wollmann! After a rough first day of sailing landed her in 23rd position, she came right back over the past couple of days and is currently sitting in 9th place overall! She is slowly chipping away at the lead the other girls had on her after the first day! What a competitor! With three races left in the series and the last race being worth double the points, it's still anybody's game! You go Ceci!”
