Bermuda Sailors Continue South American Championships

A total of 165 sailors including six young sailors from Bermuda Flag continued competing at the 2022 Optimist South American Championships in Brazil.

Three races were sailed on Day Two, making it five races for the Series.

Trystan Hocking is leading the Bermuda Fleet moving up 21 places to 40th place with 60 Net Points, Hocking crossed the line in 4th place in the first race of the day, before finishing 8th in the second race, finishing 43rd in the first race, before finishing 5th in race two. Hocking was U-Flagged in the final race, U-Flagged is a ruling where a boat is deemed to have prematurely started the race

Nina Gotfredsen ended the day in 80th place with 95 Net Points, this after finishing 43rd in the first race, 29th in the second race, and then 24th in the final race of the day.

Rory Savage is in 97th with 104 Net Points, after finishing 50th in the first race, 38th in race two, and 20th in the third race, while Oliver Soares is in 116th place with 124 Net Points, having finished 47th in the first race, 19th in the second race, and then he finished 40th in the third race.

Aiden Mahone is 144th with 156 Net Points, he crossed the line 46th in the first race, he finished 9th in the second race, before finishing 52nd in the third race.
