Three races were completed in each fleet at the 2022 ILCA 4 Youth World Championships. Vilamoura provided a nice southeast breeze of 7–13 knots, and with pent-up energy from no racing yesterday, the sailors including Bermuda’s Amelia Lewis were very eager to get their races off today.
Lewis in a Girl's Fleet of 156 sailors, moved up 14 more places from her starting position of 71st place to 57th place after 9 races.
Sailors now have the opportunity to discard their worse finish after the four races.
Lewis finished the first race of the day and the seventh of the regatta in 15th place, before crossing the line in 40th in the second race of the day, she would close out the day by finishing 49th in the third and final race of the day for her 265 Net Points.
