Adam Hall and his Aberdeen teammates came off a series loss to Mahoning Valley with a big shutout of the Staten Island Yankees. Matt Hammonds and Josh Keaton combined to keep the Yanks scoreless and allow just five hits.
To no one's surprise familiar names created runs in the fourth inning. Robbie Thorburn led off the frame with a double. Back to back walks set up the bases loaded for Willy Yahn to get his 19th RBI of the season to make it 1-0.
Hall had 4 At Bats, having 1 Hit which was a Double, he also struck out once.
Staten Island could barely touch Hammonds. The southpaw allowed four hits, with no more than two baserunners on in an inning. He induced two inning ending double plays to keep the 'Birds up one through his seven innings.
In the 8th the birds grabbed a few more. J.C. Escarra rejoined the RBI club with Luke Ringhofer on second, and Alexis Torres followed him to knock in another to make it 3-0.
