Competition on the waters of Brazil off the Marina Da Gloria, came to an end for Bermuda pair Ceci Wollmann and Cameron Pimentel.
At the conclusion of the Women’s Laser Radial and Men’s Laser Fleet races 9 & 10, Wollmann finished 34th overall with 291 Net Points, while Pimentel finished 41st with 339 Net Points..
In Race 9 of the Women’s Laser Radial, Wollmann finished 32nd, she was 33rdh around the first mark, and remained in that spot around the 2nd mark. Wollmann moved down one spot in at the 3rd mark, holding that position until rounding the 5th mark, before jumping up two spots through the finish line clocking 54:04.
Pimentel finished the Men’s Laser 9th race in a time of 52:48, which put him over the line in 42nd place. Pimentel was 45th around the first mark, and was able to gain two positions around the second mark, he would drop to 44th around markers 3, 4 and 5, he would however gain two spots from the fifth marker to the finish line.
In the 10th race of the Series in the Women’s Laser Radial, Wollmann finished 32nd with a time of 50.51, Wollmann rounded the first two markers in 31st, before falling one spot each around the third and fourth markers, but she jumped up two spots around the fifth marker and then overtook another sailor on her way to the finish line.
In the 10th race for the Men’s Laser Fleet, Pimentel clocked time of 52.11 putting him across the line in 39th place. Pimentel was around the first mark in 40th, he was then 39th around the second mark. Pimentel was 40th around marks 3 & 4, before moving up to 39th around the 5th mark and then he crossed the line.
