Optimist Worlds & 29er's Championships Round Up

Day Four Optimist Worlds Championship 2016

Day Five of the Optimist Worlds Championship 2016 saw Bermuda’s young sailors back the water in Vilamoura, Portugal. Only One race was sailed taking the total to 9 races thus far.

Competing in the Blue Fleet Jordan Etemadi is currently in 56th with 328 Net Points, after finishing 59th.

The four other competitors are competing in the Green Fleet, Micah Raynor is 9th with 344 Net Points, Felix Cutler is currently 33rd with 408 Net Points, while Leyli Walker is in 48th with 450 Net Points and Tayte Stefaniuk is in 56th with 472 Net Points.

Arrowsmith & Stewart Continue Competing in US 29er's

Thirty-five teams continued competing at the US 29er National Championships in Newport, Rhode Island - hosted by Sail Newport.

The regatta has a very international flavor with teams representing Canada, Bermuda, Virgin Islands, Antigua, New Zealand, and the USA.

Joe Arrrowsmith and Lachie Stewart continued representing Bermuda in the Regatta.

Three races were completed on Narragansett Bay on Day Three taking the total to 10 races in the Regatta, with the Bermuda pair coming off the water in 34th place.

The opening race of the day saw them cross the line 28th, which was followed by another 32nd place finish in race two and they would record another 32nd place finish in the third race for their 267 points.
