Wade-Fray Gets More Competition in WBBL

IslandStats.com
There's a new look to the Women's National League following Basketball England's announcement of the Divisional line-ups for 2016/17.

While the top division - the WBBL - gains two sides, Oaklands College Wolves and the new Scottish club, for the first time there will be a national second tier with a 12-team NBL Division One.

Bermuda’s Jenaya Wade-Fray who finished as the League’s 9th Points Per Game player with an average of 15.3, plays for the Brixton Topcats.

Three of the clubs - Barking Abbey, Chamwood Riders and Sevenoaks Suns - are second teams of WBBL clubs with the remaining sides having finished with winning records in the three regional divisions last season. Notably Manchester Mystics II, who finished second in the northern section, have chosen not to take up membership while London United have disappeared after a third place finish in the south east division.

The remaining 20 sides are split in two regional division twos, nine sides in the north and 11 in the south.

With all 32 clubs facing an increase in both travel and games, it should be an interesting 2016/17 season.
