Day One Youth Sailing World Championships

IslandStats.com
Day One began with a full on wind to greet the sailors for the first races of the 45th Youth Sailing World Championships in Malaysia.

Ceci and Mikey Wollmann began the day with the rest of the Laser Radial Fleet who were the first fleet back ashore after facing the gusting wind that was hitting 20 knots on the race area.

With everyone trying to get off to a flyer to set up their tilt at a Gold Medal, it would seem that the day was reserved for the few who liked the stronger winds that Langkawi had to offer for it's first racing day.

Ceci Wollmann began the day with a 16th place finish in the field of 49 Women Laser Radial sailors, she then recorded a 7th place finish in the second race and comes off the water in 12th place with 23 points.

In a Fleet of 65 Boy’s Mikey Wollmann finds himself in 37th with 77 points after the two races on the day. Mikey finished 42nd in the Opening Race and 35th in the second.
