The Bermuda National Match Racing Championships took place on the waters of the Hamilton Harbor, with three competitors looking for the one Bermuda Spot available for the 2015 AGRO Group Gold Cup.
First up was Joshua Greenslade and his crew against Jordan Saints and his crew. At the start Saints was handed a penalty going into start, Saints les Greenslade at first leeward but still had penalty. Saints was able to do his penalty turn and get over the line to take the first race.
Next was Dean Barker from Team SoftBank Japan against Blythe Walker, this was a very close race with Walker almost getting the better od Barker, however Barker got the puff he was looking for to cross the line first in a very close finish.
Saints picked up a penalty in his second race as he took on Barker, which turned out to be another close finish. Unfortunately Saints could not clear his penalty, handing the SoftBank Team Japan another win.
Walker then took on Greenslade, in one of the closes races of the day that saw Greenslade and his crew just edge out Walker.
In the Semi-Finals Walker defeated Greenslade in race 1, while Barker defeated Saints. A Torn chute for Saints in match 2 of Semis against Barker saw Barker book a spot in Final, Walker for the second time defeated Greenslade to also advance to the Final, which has seen Walker Advance to the 2015 ARGO Group Gold Cup.
Jason Saints finish third at National Match Racing Championships after he got the better of Joshua Greenslade in the Petite Final.
Barker took control of the Final from the start and maintained a good lead going into final leg, comfortably winning over Walker who was carrying a penalty from start. Barker then won the next race to win the Championship.
