Joshua Greenslade and his St. Mary's College of Maryland Sailing teammates faced a tough day on the water, but finished in second place following the completion of the 2014 ICSA/APS Team Race Championship.
The three-day championship featured 16 of the country's best team racing teams and concluded with the awarding of the Walter C. Wood Trophy to Yale University the 2014 National Champion.
St. Mary's finished second at last year's Team Race Championship and has brought home the Wood Trophy five times in 1999, 2000, 2004, 2007, and 2010.
The format for this event saw the 16 teams all race each other once in round-robin fashion for the first round. The first round determines places 9-14 while the top-8 teams advanced to a single round robin to decide places 5-8. The top-4 remaining teams then continue on to a "final four" – another single round robin to Crown the 2014 champion.
Yale finished with an overall record of 22-3, with Greenslade and his teammates finishing with a record of 18-7. Stanford University finished third with a record of 17-8.
