IslandStats.com
The 2014 Bermuda International Invitational Race Week (BIIRW) continued in the Great Sound, Etchells, I.O.D and Lasers all took to the waters.

In the Laser Fleet, Cameron Pimentel continued his winning ways, once again winning all three races on the day. Pimentel leads the Fleet with 5 points, while Malcolm Smith moved into second place with 14 points and Rajae Woods is in third with 17 points.

The International One Design Fleet (IOD) never seems to escape BIIRW without a 'repair' night.

Today is no different - in the last race of the Day, Ed Kavle of Fishers Island broke rule 10 against Henry Arnold of Royal Thames Yacht Club.

The unfortunate port/starboard incident resulted in Kavle retiring from the race and Arnold now waiting on average points for the regatta.

Sadly Arnold's boat for the day, Solna received a broken mast and Kavle's boat has suffered a broken fore-stay and other rigging damage.

The Bermuda Class Association is in full repair mode and Blitz should be back out on the water tomorrow. Solna maybe out on her mooring tomorrow and that means the spare boat, Encore will head out for racing while the new rig is prepared.

The IOD is being led by Peter Wickwire from Canada, with 9 points, Jan Petter Roed from Norway is currently in second with 20 points and Dan Faria & Roy Weedon are in third with 23 along with Jeremy Preston.

The Etchells Fleet wasn't spared the protest room either, Jason Owen successfully protest John Hele in race 1 of the day. Hele was found to have broken rule 18.3 - the infamous 'tacking in the zone' rule at a mark. With his DSQ of 6 points being one of his provisional drops, Hele is still comfortably in the lead with 9 points.

Hele is leading the Etchells Class by five points ahead of Tim Patton in Thrash, Patton has 14 points, Jason Owen from Great Britain is in third place sailing Pippa with 18 points.
