The 2014 Bermuda International Invitational Race Week continued in the Great Sound, Comets, Etchells, I.O.D Lasers and Youth Lasers all took to the waters in light winds and heavy rain squalls.
The Comet Class chose to stay ashore, with the Day One results looking to stand as the final, Rockal Evans and his crew Christina Barnard were the leaders with 4 points, after winning the first two races of the day and then finishing second in the third race.
Stephen Dickinson and his crew Pat Young finished second in the first two races and then won the third race, they are in second place with 5 points, Ceci Wollmann and her crew Peter Dill recorded three third place finishes and are in third with 9 points.
Benn Smith cinched the Inaugural Youth Laser Fleet Title with 9 points, Smith recorded one first place finish and two second place finishes in the three races sailed on the day. Smith finished no worse than 2nd in the 7 races sailed. Thomas Penruddocke finished in second with 14 points and George Buckley finished in third with 17 points.
Cam Pimental leads the Laser Fleet competing for the International Race Week Championship Trophy after three races with three points, winning all three races, Rajae Woods is currently in second with 7 points and Malcolm Smith is in third with 13 points.
The International One Design Fleet (IOD) is being led by Peter Wickwire from Canada, with 9 points, Wickwire finished third in the first race of the day and then won the second race of the day before closing out with a fifth place finish in the third and final race of the day. Jan Petter Roed from Norway is currently in second with 14 points and Dan Faria & Roy Weedon are in third with 15 points.
John Hele's Renegade is leading the Etchells Class by three points ahead of Tim Patton in Thrash. Patton was the overnight leader, but two second place finishes and a fourth saw him fall, while Hele recorded three wins on the day for his 10 points. Jason Owen from Great Britain has dropped to third place in Pippa with 16 points.
