The 2nd World Youth Sailing Week organized by Vela Garda Trentino continued with youngsters taking to the waters for the second day of the 32nd Meeting del Garda Optimist in Italy.
Five Optimist sailors from Bermuda are sailing at Lake Garda, Italy in the World’s largest Optimist regatta.
The competitors representing Bermuda include Campbell Patton, Matilda Nicholls, Flo Nicholls, Luke Madeiros, and Ethan Madeiros.
Bermuda has Two competitors in the competitor 187 A Division Fleet that completed a total of 4 races.
Flo Nicholls started the day in 41st but after recording finishes of 6th and 13th, she moved up to 27th place with 39 Net Points, Nicholls has thrown out her 30th place second race finish.
Ethan Madeiros Did Not Compete in race three and then he Did Not Finish the fourth race and is in 195th place.
Bermuda has three competitors in the 615 competitor Division B Juniors Fleet, they have completed 7 races in the series.
Campbell Patton moved up from his 55th starting place to 41st place with 81 points. in the three races sailed on the day Patton recorded finishes of 60th, 14th and 6th, he has thrown out his 60th place finish.
Matilda Nicholls recorded finishes of 25th, 28th and 11th falling from her starting position of 36th to end the day in 49th place with 91 points.
Luke Madeiros is in 432nd place with 449 points, Madeiros recorded finishes of 96th, 25th and 92nd on the day.
