Day One Bermuda Sailors in Uruguay

The OPTIMIST INDIVIDUAL SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP (ISAM), OPTIMIST TEAM RACING SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIP (TRSAM) and the OPTIMIST NATIONS CUP (NC) got underway in Uruguay.

On Day One the wind blew from the West-Southwest, with an average of 8 knots.

There are 15 countries and 158 sailors participating in the event. The 8-person Bermuda National Team for this event is Joe Arrowsmith, George Buckley, Camille Chin-Gurrett, Felix Cutler, Yanick Hillier, Adam Larson, Tayte Stefaniuk and Mikey Wollmann.

The Provisional results after Three Races see Stefaniuk in 22nd place with 35 points, this after finishes of 5th, 19th and 11th, while Larson is in 29th place with 42 points, with finishes of 12th, 26th and 4th.

Arrowsmith currently holds the 38th position with 47 points, while Wollmann who holds the 56th position with 65 points, Cutler is in 74th place with 77 points and on 93 points is Chin-Gurrett who is in 97th place. Hillier is in 124th place with 121 points, while Buckley is in 154th place with 221 points.
