IslandStats.com
Olympic bound brothers Jesse and Zander Kirkland leaped five places on Day 5 of the Seiko 49er World Championships going on in Zadar, Croatia.

Sailing in the Gold Fleet, the Kirkland’s ended the day in 4th place overall with 81 Net Points.

The Kirkland’s crossed the line first in the day’s first race and then they finished third in the second race of the day. The Kirkland’s was one of seven boats Black Flag Disqualified in race number three.

The Black Flag Rule is when after a general recall a boat learns from seeing their sail number displayed that it has been disqualified by the race committee under the second sentence of rule 30.3 and believes the race committee has made a mistake, their only option is not to start, and then to seek redress.

The Kirkland’s during the 49er World Championships have recorded 11 top 10 finishes in the fifteen races sailed thus far.
