Bouchard Named To All-NEISA Skipper Second Team
Sean Bouchard and his Roger Williams University Sailing teammates earned a berth for the fourth straight year to the ICSA Team Race National Championship after taking third place at the New England Team Race Championship.

At the New England Team Race Championship, Roger Williams finished in third place on a tie-breaker with eventual winner Boston College and second-place finisher Brown University. All three teams went 13-6 on the weekend, however, Roger Williams went 0-3 versus Brown and 1-2 versus Boston College.

Roger Williams won four of the first five races to move into the first Gold Round Robin, where they tallied a record of 6-1. In the second Gold Round Robin, Roger Williams went 4-3 to advance to the final six with an overall record of 10-4. Roger Williams closed out the regatta by going 2-3, but still managed a three-way tie for first with a 13-6 overall record and the berth to the national championships.

Sailing for Roger Williams on the weekend were Bouchard, Alec Anderson, Tyler Macdonald, Sophie Bellacosa, Kelly Stannard, Tyler Wilson, and Jake Bartlein.

In addition the championship berth, he NEISA Awards Committee announced the 2012 All-NEISA Co-ed Teams this past weekend, with Anderson, Bouchard, Bellacosa, Stannard and Wilson all receiving recognition. Anderson was named to the All-NEISA Skipper First Team, while Bouchard was named to the second team. Bellacosa and Stannard were both named to the All-NEISA Crew First Team, while Wilson was named to the All-NEISA Crew Second Team.

At the Southern Series, Roger Williams finished in fourth place with a score of 362. In A Division, Roger Williams had a combined score of 189, including three top-three finishes en route to a sixth-place score. In B Division, Roger Williams finished fourth with a score of 173. Racing for Roger Williams in the A Division were Bermuda’s Campbell Duffy and Connor Adams. In the B Division, Roger Williams was represented by Jack Hunger and Morgan Wheeler.
