Sean Bouchard and his Roger Williams University Sailing teammates began the spring portion of the 2011-12 season competing in a regatta at Navy, where they placed second.
At the Graham Hall Team Race at Navy, Roger Williams University finished runner-up in the 16-team field. In the first round robin, Roger Williams University tied with Georgetown with a 13-2 record for first place among the field and a trip to the Gold Round.
Competing for Roger Williams University were Bouchard, Alec Anderson, Tyler Macdonald, Kelly Stannard, Sophie Bellacosa, and Tyler Wilson.
At the Gold Round, Roger Williams University managed a 6-1 record for first overall to advance to the final four. In the final round, Roger Williams University took only one win in three races, finishing the regatta with a 20-5 overall record along with Georgetown.
Georgetown would earn the win via tiebreaker, giving Roger Williams University second place.
