Jesse Kirkland and his brother Zander Kirkland are really looking forward to continuing their good performance following their effort at the US Sailing’s Rolex Miami OCR Regatta.
Jesse Kirkland said, “We had a pretty eventful Regatta, we put together some good results, we could have finished better than what we did however we had a couple of unfortunate incidents that did not go our way.”
One of the incidents saw Kirkland escape a major injury after being hit by another boat’s spinnaker.
“Our training has been going great, we are keen to get back into racing and looking forward to the Menorca for our next event as we prepare to make the challenge for a spot at the 2012 London Olympic, continued Kirkland.
Kirkland concluded, “We have the World Championships in Croatia in May, that is the place where the final five Olympic spots will be handed out and we know with a good showing we can be on the plane to London to represent Bermuda at the Olympics.
