The great sailing conditions continued at Pwllheli Sailing Club on the third day of the Volvo Gill Optimist Open and National Championships. The Senior and Junior fleets managed two good races each, showcasing some fantastic sailing. The South Westerly wind, around 7-8 knots died around mid-afternoon preventing a third race for the sailors.
Bermuda residents Matilda Nicholls, Flo Nicholls and Rory Caslin continue competing at the UK Volvo Gill Optimist British National and Open Championship in Pwllheli, Wales.
Caslin, is currently in 31st place with 75 points taking part in the Senior Fleet, Caslin has two top five finishes, to go with three finishes in the twenty’s.
After seven races Royal Bermuda Yacht Club’s Matilda Nicholls with 21 points now leads the Regatta Racing Fleet Division, Nicholls has seven top ten finishes, including two wins and has an 11 point lead over the Fleet.
Flo Nicholls is currently 26th in the Regatta Coaching Fleet Division with 109 points. Nicholls finished the 4th race of the Series in 5th place.
