Burgess’ last regatta of his high school sailing career was the Virginia State Championships which Christchurch Sailing Team won, held last weekend, Burgess sailing in the school A Boat, recording three first place finishes, three second place finishes and a fifth, his hat-trick of victories came on the very last race, to close out an excellent 3 years of Varsity Sailing for Christchurch School .
Burgess was also awarded Virgina Interscholastic Sailing Association Sailor of the Year.
