Nahki Wells and Ross McCrorie were the heroes for Bristol City, as their goals helped Bristol City fight back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
The hosts took the lead in the 16th minute through Djeidi Gassama, who finished off a well-worked move involving Barry Bannan and Yan Valery.
Bristol City responded strongly after the break, with Wells equalizing in the 51st minute. Rob Dickie's long pass found Mark Sykes, whose cross was expertly headed home by Wells from close range.
However, their joy was short-lived as Sheffield Wednesday regained the lead just two minutes later. This time, it was Di'Shon Bernard who found the back of the net after a neat exchange between George Byers and Bannan.
Nigel Pearson's triple substitution, introducing Sam Bell, George Earthy, and Anis Mehmeti, injected fresh energy into the City attack. They piled on the pressure and finally found an equalizer in the 86th minute. Luke McNally kept Sykes' cross alive, heading the ball back across goal for McCrorie to head home.
Despite a late surge from Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City held firm to secure a valuable point on the road. Wells and McCrorie's crucial goals ensured the Robins avoided defeat in a thrilling encounter at Hillsborough.
