A goalless draw saw Nahki Wells and his Bristol City teammates earn a point at St. Andrew’s and finish the year with a four-game unbeaten run following their 0 – 0 draw with Birmingham City.
After three successive victories, they had to find the breakthrough for a fourth against a stubborn Birmingham City side.
The opening 10 minutes lacked chances for both sides. Bristol City controlled the ball but were unable to create anything more than a corner in the early stages.
City’s first sight at goal came in the 12th minute after Wells’ attempt on goal deflected to Anis Mehmeti but his header was wide of the Birmingham City goal.
Bristol City continued to possess well particularly across the back four and midfield but couldn’t advance up the pitch smoothly.
As the game neared the half-hour mark Bristol City began to find rhythm and Williams’ long diagonal pass found Sykes, who crossed to Wells but the City forward could not capitalize.
