Nahki Wells and his Bristol City teammates booked their spot in round three of the Carabao Cup after a 3 - 1 win on the road against Wycombe Wanderers.
Dylan Kadji netted the game's opener seven minutes into his debut before Ali Al-Hamadi leveled the scores in the 50th minute.
Kane Wilson bagged his first City goal to put the Robins ahead with Antoine Semenyo netting in added time on his return to put the icing on the cake.
Having been named in the starting XI for the first time Kadji would’ve wanted to make an impact from the off, and the 18-year-old got just the start he would've wished for.
Naismith whipped a corner into the Chairboys’ six-yard box which Wilson met at the far post to steer towards goal, where Kadji was on hand to flick the ball past the helpless Tyla Dickinson and reel off in celebration just seven minutes into the contest.
City dominated proceedings for the following ten minutes as they pushed and probed the Wycombe backline in search of a second, however the Robins failed to carve out a clearcut opportunity.
The Wanderers’ first chance of the game fell the way of Al-Hamadi as the forward picked up the ball in the midfield before driving at the City defence, who seemed to sit off as he advanced towards goal. Tanner then applied as Al-Hamadi struck the ball which he dragged wide, failing to trouble Dan Bentley.
Much of City’s attack was flowing down the right-hand side through the Wilson. The full-back cleverly chopped the ball inside the sell the covering defender and advance towards goal but his shot failed to trouble Dickinson.
Soon after, Joe Jacobson went close after his testing corner ricocheted around the City box, before making its way back to the Chairboys' skipper who then whipped the ball inches over the bar from the tightest of angles.
City went into the sheds with a 1-0 lead thanks to their debutant.
Wells was replaced at the break.
Following the half-time break, the hosts had a renewed energy and with it they found their equalizer.
Anis Mehmeti drove to the by-line and hoisted the ball into the City six-yard box, where Al-Hamadi rose highest to head home and bring the Chairboys level.
The Robins almost replied with an immediate counterpunch through Martin. Conway hurtled down the right to pick out the Scot with a pinpoint ball across the face of the goal, however, the frontman was denied by the legs of Dickinson.
City continued their push for a second, and they were inches away from taking the lead as Scott stretched to meet Conway’s testing cross, but to no avail.
Two of the red’s new summer signings combined for the Robins’ second in 75th-minute. Antoine Semenyo laid the ball off to Naismith, whose arcing cross dropped to Wilson at the far post and the full-back made no mistake in volleying home in front of the 1000-strong Cider Army.
Semenyo added the icing on the cake in injury-time as Conway selflessly squared the ball to the striker to tap in and ensure City's place in round three.
