Shaki Crockwell has been released from his USL Bermuda Hogges contract, because he is unable to travel to the United States, and will now join the Kings currently 5th in the Island Soccer League.
Crocwell said, “Because I am unable to travel, we have reached a mutual agreement that I be released from my contract”. Crockwell added, “I want to thank the Bermuda Hogges organization for giving me the chance to play, but because of my situation it is better for me at this time to be playing football, so I will join the Kings after my four game suspension”.
Crockwell continued, “At the beginning I was hoping that they would let me play for the Hogges when they played their home games, and while they travel I would play for the Kings, but when the contracts where presented it stated that we were unable to play both leagues”.
Crockwell who scored 7 league goals for the Boulevard Blazers was the first ever player to be drafted in the Island Soccer League. Crockwell was drafted by his football advisor, John Rebello, who is also the head coach of the Blazers.
Crockwell missed the Hogges first two games and then playing 27 minutes in the teams third game at the National Sports Center against the Cincinnati Kings. Crockwell will miss two more Kings games before putting on the purple Power 95 shirt and getting involved.
Crockwell concluded, “If the waiver that I am seeking comes through, and I am given another chance to join the Bermuda Hogges I will do so”.
